Disclosures

Disclosure in the closed state MVP uses “disclosures” in some places to show and hide parts of the page. You can recognize disclosures by looking for dark blue bars with white text and a white arrow graphic, as shown in the screenshot to the right.

Disclosure tool-tip Placing your mouse over the blue bar will show a “tool-tip” reminding you that you can click on it to toggle the display of the content the disclosure contains.

Disclosure in the open state Clicking on the blue bar will toggle the display of the content contained by the disclosure.

Hinted Text

Hinted text In some places in the MVP interface, you will see text with a dotted underline. This is “hinted text.” Placing your mouse over this text will display a “tool-tip” with more information about the item.

In the example to the right, the cursor is over the word “JavaScript” revealing a tool-tip. The word “cookies” is also hinted.

Column Pickers

Column picker in the ready state MVP makes extensive use of column pickers for drilling down through large amounts of data. The idea is that as you click on an item in one column, the relevant choices are displayed in the next column over.

The screenshot to the right shows part of a column picker ready for user input.

Column picker with first column clicked The screenshot to the right shows part of a column picker where the first column has been clicked, revealing relevant choices in the second column.

School Color Picker

Color picker with no colors selected MVP uses a “color picker” to select school colors. Each school color consists of two parts: the name of the color (e.g., Green) and HEX value (e.g., #00CC00) for the color.

You will enter the names for your school colors and pick the HEX value using the color picker.

The screen to the right shows a color picker with the default values.

Note: The color names for your school may be present, even if the color values have not been selected.

User clicking on a color in the color picker On the colors interface, find the color that most closely matches one of your school’s colors. The picker will show you a preview of the color. When you have found the correct color, click on it to set it.

Note: If white is one of your school colors, you must click on white in the color picker.

User entering a color name in the color picker Give the color a name by clicking in the box at the top of the color tab and typing in the name.

Color picker with second tab clicked When you are ready to enter your school’s second color, click on the next tab over and repeat the other steps.
